Do I need a permit for gorilla trekking in Rwanda? How much is the permit ?

Yes, a permit is required for gorilla trekking in Rwanda, with a fixed price of $1500 USD per person. The Rwandan government issues only 96 permits daily to protect the gorillas and minimize disturbances. Due to the limited number and high demand, it’s crucial to book your permit well in advance.

When is the best time to see animal migration?

The best time to witness the wildebeest migration in the Serengeti Plains is from July to early October. This period is the peak season, so lodge availability is limited and prices are higher.

Where should I stay to see wildebeest river crossings like in documentaries?

To best experience a wildebeest river crossing as shown in documentaries, it’s advisable to stay in North Serengeti close to the Mara River. These crossings are filmed over two months and the size and timing of daily crossings can vary greatly.
